2017 Atlanta Metro Export Challenge is Now Open

The 2017 Atlanta Metro Export Challenge (Atlanta MEC) powered by Chase Bank and UPS is now open.  Like last year, metro Atlanta companies will be eligible to receive $5,000 grants to help them expand and build their export capacity and activity.  The grant challenge is open to any company in metro Atlanta - domestic or foreign-owned - that has been in business for at least a full calendar year and is in good standing with the Georgia Secretary of State.  Also, all grant recipients are eligible to pitch their export plans for a chance to receive additional grants of up to $20,000.

Last year, companies used the funds: to attend and participate in trade missions, trade shows, and conferences; to translate marketing collateral and websites; to apply for intellectual patents, certifications, trademarks, etc.; and to set up business-to-business meetings with international partners and clients.  Atlanta MEC is just one avenue to help metro Atlanta small- and medium-sized companies sell their products or services to international customers.

For interested companies, Atlanta MEC is a two-step process with the company assessment followed by the application.  Company assessments will be reviewed, and if the company meets the minimum criteria, they will be invited to complete the application.  The deadline for the application is Friday, 19 May 2017.  Since the application takes some time to complete, companies are strongly encouraged to plan accordingly so that they do not miss the deadline.  Below is the link for the AMEC company assessment.
