The Henry County Development Authority has compiled the following information and recommendations to help our established businesses and employers plan, prepare and respond to Coronavirus (Covid-19). We encourage businesses to monitor the situation through official sources, like the Georgia Department of Public Health, and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

Georgia’s “shelter in place” orders have expired for many Georgia businesses. However, under current orders, extended through August 11, 2020, businesses must continue to operate with social distancing and sanitation rules to keep customers and employees safe.

Residents and visitors are encouraged to wear face coverings in public, except when eating, drinking, or exercising outdoors. Sanitation activities should be practiced in accordance with the guidelines published by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

The CDC has provided guidance to keep people safe during reopening. On Thursday, May 14, the Center for Disease Control & Prevention (CDC) released guidance for specific industries and communities.   • Georgia Department of Labor: Employers are required to file partial claims on behalf of their employees whenever it is necessary to temporarily reduce work hours or there is no work available for a short period. Please review the NEW Information for filing for unemployment, mandatory filing by employers for partial claims, and reemployment services.
  • The Georgia Department of Public Health, the state’s official COVID-19 response team, recommends that employers and employees:
    • Use teleworking technologies to the greatest extent possible.
    • Stagger work schedules.
    • Consider canceling non-essential travel.
  • Interim Guidance for Businesses and Employers: The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has issued Interim Guidance for businesses and employers based on what is currently known about the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).  The CDC will update this interim guidance as needed and as additional information becomes available.

The State of Georgia has a new COVID-19 hotline. If you believe that you are experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 or have been exposed to the novel coronavirus, please contact your primary care doctor, an urgent care clinic, or your local federally qualified healthcare center. Please do not show up unannounced at an emergency room or health care facility.
