Georgia Power’s Community & Economic Development staff is made up of statewide project managers that are responsible for facilitating the location, expansion, or start-up of businesses wishing to invest in Georgia. Projects are supported at the local level by regional project managers and engineers.
The Henry County Water Authority was founded in 1961 by an Act of the General Assembly of the State of Georgia, to “acquire, construct, and thereafter operate and maintain projects embracing sources of water supply and the distribution and sale of water and related facilities.” The Water Authority accommodates the needs of local citizens, and protects the watersheds in order to ensure clean sources of water for Henry County residents and businesses.

The Georgia Department of Economic Development’s Workforce division launched WorkSource Georgia in 2016 at the Georgia Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) Convening. This new statewide unified brand was created to align the resources of Georgia’s workforce system, in order to more effectively connect job seekers with careers in the state’s leading industries.
A Friend’s House is a local non-profit organization that serves as a shelter and home to youth in crisis. Working with the Department of Family and Children Services to create permanency plans for each child, the organization has helped 3,000+ youth and children find respite from abuse, abandonment, or neglect since 1998.
For more than 85 years, Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Atlanta (BGCMA) has ignited the unlimited potential of kids and teens by creating safe, inclusive, and engaging environments. At Goodwill of North Georgia, the mission is a simple one: We Put People to Work. They use the funding generated through donations and their stores to operate 14 career centers and their virtual career center, Career Connector. Here, they provide job training and placement services to anyone who wants it. With the support of donors, shoppers and community partners, they help local job seekers overcome the barriers to employment. Last year, they helped connect more than 22,000 individuals with jobs.
Hands of Hope Clinic was founded in 2004 with one purpose: to ensure every adult in Henry County has access to compassionate, high-quality healthcare, regardless of their ability to pay. As the county’s only charitable medical, dental, and mental health provider, they serve uninsured residents ages 18–64 who fall outside Medicare, Medicaid, and VA coverage. Their mission is to promote community well-being by providing access to quality, compassionate healthcare to uninsured residents of Henry County.
Haven House is a shelter and program dedicated to serving victims of family violence in Butts, Henry, Jasper, and Lamar counties of Georgia.
Helping In His Name Ministries Inc (aka, The Food Pantry) is a non-profit inter-denominational Christian organization, and one of the largest faith-based food assistance ministries in Henry County, Georgia. Their mission to provide food to families and individuals in need is carried out by a small number of staff and a large group of volunteers, and with using donated food and money.
