Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta

Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta has fought to help make sure all children have access to the specialized care they need since 1915. Consistently ranked among the top children’s hospitals by U.S. News & World Report, Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta provides access to more than 1,200 pediatric physicians and allied health practitioners across more than 60 pediatric specialties. Their system represents a committed movement of nearly 15,000 employees.

Kaiser Permanente Kaiser Permanente is one of the nation’s largest not-for-profit health plans, serving 12.6 million members. At Kaiser Permanente, physicians are responsible for medical decisions. The Permanente Medical Groups, which provide care for Kaiser Permanente members, continuously develop and refine medical practices to help ensure that care is delivered in the most efficient and effective manner possible.
Piedmont Henry Hospital Piedmont Henry is a 259-bed, not-for-profit, acute care hospital that has served the communities of Henry County and surrounding areas for over 40 years. We offer 24-hour emergency care and all major medical, surgical and diagnostic services. It is home to a Level III trauma center and a Level III neonatal intensive care unit (NICU).

Atlanta Gas Light

Atlanta Gas Light provides natural gas delivery service to more than 1.7 million customers in Georgia. In operation since 1856, the company is one of the oldest corporations in the state.

CGEMC is a cooperative. As a not-for-profit consumer-owned electric distribution system, CGEMC operates on a cost of doing business basis. The CGEMC’s goal is to meet the needs of its members, at the lowest fair and practical cost. CGEMC meets the electric energy needs of members in a 16 county area (Bartow, Bibb, Butts, Clayton, Fayette, Henry, Jasper, Jones, Lamar, Monroe, Morgan, Murray, Newton, Pike, Putnam, and Spalding counties), with over 66,000-billed accounts.

Georgia Power Company, a regional utility that supplies electric power and energy services to Georgia businesses and residents, is a subsidiary of Southern Company. Georgia Power’s Community & Economic Development staff is made up of statewide project managers that are responsible for facilitating the location, expansion, or start-up of businesses wishing to invest in Georgia. Projects are supported at the local level by regional project managers and engineers.

The Henry County Water Authority was founded in 1961 by an Act of the General Assembly of the State of Georgia, to “acquire, construct, and thereafter operate and maintain projects embracing sources of water supply and the distribution and sale of water and related facilities.” The Water Authority accommodates the needs of local citizens, and protects the watersheds in order to ensure clean sources of water for Henry County residents and businesses.

Snapping Shoals Electric Membership Corporation is a non-profit, consumer-owned cooperative headquartered in Covington, Georgia. They serve some of the fastest-growing areas in our nation, and most of their once-rural service territory is now part of metro Atlanta. The co-op currently provides electricity to approximately 100,000 homes and businesses in an eight-county area that includes large portions of Newton, Henry and Rockdale counties as well as parts of DeKalb, Butts, Walton, Jasper and Morgan counties.

Atlanta Regional Commission
The Atlanta Regional Commission (ARC) and its predecessor agencies have been working since 1947 to plan for a better, brighter Atlanta region. Over the years, ARC’s work portfolio has evolved and now includes regional transportation planning, aging services, community development, water resources management, workforce development, and homeland security.

Founded in 1985, the Council for Quality Growth is a not-for-profit trade association advocating for the growth and development industry, with the mission of promoting balanced and responsible growth in metro Atlanta and Georgia.

With over 100 years of service, the Georgia Chamber of Commerce is your strategic guide toward growth and prosperity in Georgia’s vibrant business economy. Their mission is to empower and support Georgia’s businesses and communities, driving prosperity and growth through unwavering advocacy, innovative partnerships, and strategic guidance.
The Georgia Economic Developers Association (GEDA) is a non-profit association of professionals and volunteers who are involved with the economic development of the cities and counties of Georgia. GEDA was organized to increase the effectiveness of individuals involved in the practice of economic development in Georgia by encouraging cooperation, exchange of information, and upgrading of professional skills. GEDA strives to achieve a closer working relationship among professionals and volunteers engaged in economic development in Georgia.

The Georgia Department of Economic Development (GDEcD) is the state’s sales and marketing arm. It is Georgia’s lead agency for attracting new business investment, encouraging the expansion of existing industry and small businesses, and locating new markets for Georgia products. As the state’s official destination marketing organization, it drives traveler visitation and promotes the state as a location for film and digital entertainment projects. GDEcD is responsible for planning and mobilizing state resources for economic development, fostering innovation and the arts to drive opportunity from the mountains to the coast.

Since 1945, Georgia’s ports have served as magnets for international trade and investment, enriching the state’s economy to benefit all Georgians. The Georgia Ports Authority is dedicated to providing customers with the most efficient, productive port facilities in the nation, and to creating jobs and business opportunities to benefit more than 11 million Georgians.

The International Economic Development Council (IEDC) is a non-profit, non-partisan membership organization serving economic developers. With more than 4,500 members, IEDC is the largest organization of its kind.

The Metro Atlanta Chamber (MAC) is a 165-year-old organization representing businesses, colleges and universities, and nonprofits across the 29-county region that makes up the nation’s eighth-largest market. Member companies invest in MAC’s work to attract and retain business, ensure a business-friendly climate through public policy efforts and market the region as a great place to live, work and play.

Tracing their roots to the fall of 1946, the Southern Economic Development Council is the oldest and largest regional economic development association in North America. They have members in 17 states in the American South, including Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Mississippi, Missouri, North Carolina, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, West Virginia, and the District of Columbia.

The Georgia Department of Economic Development’s Workforce division launched WorkSource Georgia in 2016 at the Georgia Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) Convening. This new statewide unified brand was created to align the resources of Georgia’s workforce system, in order to more effectively connect job seekers with careers in the state’s leading industries.

A Friend’s House

A Friend’s House is a local non-profit organization that serves as a shelter and home to youth in crisis. Working with the Department of Family and Children Services to create permanency plans for each child, the organization has helped 3,000+ youth and children find respite from abuse, abandonment, or neglect since 1998.

For more than 85 years, Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Atlanta (BGCMA) has ignited the unlimited potential of kids and teens by creating safe, inclusive, and engaging environments. Their 25 Clubs located in 9 counties across metropolitan Atlanta have traditionally served nearly 8,000 kids & teens (ages 6-18) each year, offering youth development programs during critical non-school hours that promote academic success, healthy lifestyles, and character & leadership.

Serving Henry County residents since 1996, Connecting Henry, Inc. has a reputation for effectively rallying community resources and organizing initiatives to improve the lives of Henry County citizens. The mission of Connecting Henry is to identify and collaborate with existing resources in the community for the purpose of developing and implementing programs that address challenges facing families in Henry County.

At Goodwill of North Georgia, the mission is a simple one: We Put People to Work. They use the funding generated through donations and their stores to operate 14 career centers and their virtual career center, Career Connector. Here, they provide job training and placement services to anyone who wants it. With the support of donors, shoppers and community partners, they help local job seekers overcome the barriers to employment. Last year, they helped connect more than 22,000 individuals with jobs.

Hands of Hope Clinic was founded in 2004 with one purpose: to ensure every adult in Henry County has access to compassionate, high-quality healthcare, regardless of their ability to pay. As the county’s only charitable medical, dental, and mental health provider, they serve uninsured residents ages 18–64 who fall outside Medicare, Medicaid, and VA coverage. Their mission is to promote community well-being by providing access to quality, compassionate healthcare to uninsured residents of Henry County.

Haven House is a shelter and program dedicated to serving victims of family violence in Butts, Henry, Jasper, and Lamar counties of Georgia.

Helping In His Name Ministries Inc (aka, The Food Pantry) is a non-profit inter-denominational Christian organization, and one of the largest faith-based food assistance ministries in Henry County, Georgia. Their mission to provide food to families and individuals in need is carried out by a small number of staff and a large group of volunteers, and with using donated food and money.

The Henry County Chamber of Commerce is a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the business climate and making our community the best place to live, work and play. The ultimate task of the Chamber is economic development. Not only do they work to bring new business into our rapidly growing county, they also strive to ensure our existing businesses thrive and that newcomers and visitors recognize what Henry County has to offer.

Henry County Government Community Resources consists of food, clothing, housing and shelter, healthcare, mental health, and a plethora of other resources provided by county and community partners. Through this curated list of resources or by reaching out directly, members of Henry County can better locate the assistance they need.

The Henry County Police Department (H.C.P.D.) is a rapidly growing police agency located in the Southeastern quadrant of the Atlanta Metropolitan area. The Department currently has an authorized strength of 329 sworn officers with the responsibility of providing law enforcement services to over 251,749 residents within an area of 322 square miles.

McDonough Housing Authority (MHA) operates as an autonomous organization with a steadfast mission to elevate the quality of life for individuals with low to moderate incomes. They achieve this by providing a diverse range of housing options and implementing beneficial programs aimed at fostering stability and empowerment.

Visit Henry exists to promote Henry County’s amenities and attractions and encourage the development of new attractions to enhance the tourism industry and strengthen Henry County’s economy.

Work For Warriors Georgia aims to educate, assist, and connect Military Personnel with opportunities based on their experience. Work for Warriors Georgia is a free employment initiative created by the Georgia National Guard dedicated to assisting Service Members, Veterans, Retirees, Reservists and their families in the pursuit of their career goals.
