The Henry County Development Authority today announced that Love’s Travel Stops, the nation’s industry-leading travel stop network, will open a retread plant and retail distribution center in Locust Grove, Georgia. Love’s will invest $16 million in its new Henry County facility and will employ 55 team members across various manufacturing and distribution roles. Love’s will provide retread products to commercial fleet companies and distribute product to the company’s Truck Care and Speedco locations. The new 200,000 square-foot facility is being developed by Scannell Properties.

The plant and distribution center is scheduled to open in the first quarter of 2021.

“We’re excited to join the Locust Grove community,” said Steve Phillips, director of tire sales and plant operations for Love’s. “We’re expanding our retread footprint to meet the continued growing demand of professional truck drivers and to help keep them on the road so they can continue to deliver vital products throughout the country.”

Founded in 1964 by Tom Love, Love’s Family of Companies is headquartered in Oklahoma City, and remains entirely family-owned and operated. With more than 510 locations in 41 states, Love’s provides professional truck drivers and motorists with 24-hour access to clean and safe places to purchase gasoline, diesel fuel, compressed natural gas (CNG), travel items, electronics, snacks, restaurant offerings and more. The company also provides truck care services including roadside assistance, light mechanical, truck tires for professional drivers and fleets, and affordable retread tires.

“We are proud to welcome Love’s new manufacturing and distribution facility to Locust Grove. This new investment will bring new jobs for people in our area along with substantial new investment in our growing economy.  I want them to know that our city staff will work with them to make this a successful move,” said Mayor Robert Price, City of Locust Grove.

The Love’s retread process encompasses the most comprehensive casing inspection regimen in the industry in conjunction with the latest technology and a rigorous manufacturing process to ensure a reliable and consistent product. This quality retread product is complemented by an innovative and transparent casing repair program, premium casings consistent with the fleet’s specifications and a customized reconditioning/mounted wheel program all designed to meet the unique needs of fleet customers.

“Henry’s great geographic location, along with access to major markets, roadways and talent, make it an ideal location for manufacturing and logistics operations,” said Pierre Clements, Chairman of the Henry County Development Authority.  “We’re excited that Love’s decided to Choose Henry and confident that they will find success here.”
