Hello, Fall!

The official first day of fall is September 22, 2017! There are many ways to appreciate the fall season in Henry, along with numerous events to keep you busy.

Southern Belle Farm in McDonough opens for their fall season on September 23, 2017 with a spectacular corn maze, pedal karts, pig races, and wagon rides. While you’re there, stop by their kitchen to try the kettle corn, fried pies, and caramel apples! Military members and their families will receive FREE admission on September 23 & 24 with military ID.

The grand opening for the fall season at Yule Forest in Stockbridge is happening September 30, 2017! In addition to all the usual attractions they offer, they’ll have food trucks, vendors and music to celebrate. At their Pumpkin Patch you’ll find a petting zoo, hayride, science center, puppet show, garden and more. Find your way through the new Hay Maze too! Fear the Woods, a haunted trail at Yule Forest, opens September 29, 2017! Visit if you dare.

The Atlanta Air Show will debut on October 14-15, 2017 at the Atlanta Motor Speedway! This will be the first air show in history to be held at a speedway. The show features a Super Hornet Demo, Sky Soldiers Tactical Helicopter Demo Team, Screamin Sasquatch, Kent Pietsch, and the F-16 Viper Demo Team.

The 20th annual Bear Creek Festival is October 14, 2017 from 9am to 5pm at Hampton City Park, with antique dealers, food vendors, arts & craft vendors and a kid’s area. There will also be a trackless train, car show, raffle drawings, and a hayride. Also on October 14th in Hampton is Porchfest from 1-9pm. Porchfest is a grassroots community music spectacle where front porches become stages, yards become venues, and neighborhoods together to celebrate and create a sense of community.

Take a scroll through Panola Mountain State Park with a Moonlight Mountain Hike or Guided Mountain Hike to see the colorful fall leaves! Bring the kids on October 28th for their 4th Annual Trunk-O-Treat for Halloween. They’ll enjoy games, face painting, tree climbing and contests. Don’t forget to bring a bucket for candy!
