We are a proud partner of the Henry County Water Authority! They accommodate the needs of local citizens and protect the watersheds in order to ensure clean sources of water for Henry County residents and businesses. Lately, the HCWA has been making big strides in the industry, as well as our community!

They kicked off the recent holiday season by partnering with Meals on Wheels, a local program that provides warm meals to senior adults who are temporarily or permanently home bound and unable to shop and cook for themselves. The HCWA Engineering Division volunteered their time and transportation to deliver over 40 meals via four separate routes throughout Henry County.

In addition to providing volunteers for Meals on Wheels, employees from the HCWA also assisted the Food Pantry in Stockbridge with stocking and distributing donated can goods and household items. HCWA Customer Service Manager, Rhonda Dodgen said “giving back to the community has been a great experience, and everyone who has volunteered has found it to be both rewarding and fulfilling.”

Not only in the HCWA stepping out into the community, but they have also made a huge presence in the industry. They were recently recognized for water and sewer system excellence at the annual conference and year-end fall conference of the Georgia Association of Water Professionals. They received the GAWP Collection System Platinum Award for scoring 95 percent or higher on its annual sewer system performance review for five or more consecutive years, as well as the GAWP Distribution System Gold Award for scoring 95 percent or higher on its water system annual review this past year.

The Authority’s management, staff, plant operators, and maintenance personnel are required to be certified by the State of Georgia when responsible for executing specific industry functions. They have a continuing education program to ensure that its personnel are qualified and able to meet the State of Georgia’s certification requirements. The Water Authority is currently searching for a Land Management Technician and Field Service Technician II. Learn more about their employment opportunities at HCWA.com.
