Henry for the Holidays

Christmas pic for blog.jpgDecember is upon us! Go ahead and plan out your month now, so you can fit in all the fun that Henry has to offer during the holidays.

Kick-off the season in Hampton at the Christmas at Home parade on December 1st, 7 PM to 9 PM! Enjoy pictures with Santa and snow machines. You can even do some holiday shopping at the downtown businesses; they’ll be open late and will provide tasty holiday treats.

Be off and running into the holidays by taking part in the 2016 Jingle Jog presented by the Rotary Club of Henry County! The annual 5K run and 1-mile walk is on December 3rd, starting at First Baptist Church of McDonough. Registration is scheduled from 9 to 9:45 AM, with the race beginning at 10 AM. Festivities will also include an Elf Trot at 10:30 AM for children ages 6 and under. Don’t forget to dress up in your holiday costume to enter the special contest!

After your run, head down to Locust Grove for Christmas in the Grove (December 3rd from 10 AM to 3 PM) featuring a craft fair, live performances, pictures with Santa and plenty of holiday spirit! Next, head north to Downtown McDonough for another visit with Santa (11 AM to 3 PM) and the Annual Tree Lighting (5 PM) & Christmas Parade (6 PM). If you miss Santa at any of the above events, don’t worry – you can still snap a photo with him at Tanger Outlets in Locust Grove through December 23rd!

The whole family will enjoy the Holiday Light Spectacular by Christmas Decor at the Atlanta Motor Speedway, going on now through December 30th! Drive through winter wonderlands, under flying reindeer and through dancing light tunnels of over 3 million lights. Don’t forget to stop by Santa’s Village where you can meet Mr. Claus himself!

You don’t have to travel to find family fun for the holidays . . . stay in and Choose Henry!
