Shop Small on Small Business Saturday

Saturday, November 26, 2016 is Small Business Saturday, a day to celebrate and support small businesses and all they do for their communities. American Express first came up with the idea of Small Business Saturday, and in 2011, the U.S Senate officially recognized the day. On this day, the Small Business Administration and many other organizations across the country are showing support for local small business by shopping at a small business. Small businesses provide the best customer service experience, pairing expertise with a personal touch…something that online shopping can’t provide!

Small Business Saturday is always the day after Black Friday, so it’s a great opportunity for businesses and shoppers alike. Local businesses can host a special event or promotion to celebrate this day, and shoppers can take advantage of special incentives and discounts. The SBA provides free marketing materials for businesses to use in order to reach their customers. They also provide some tips on how to make their business successful this holiday season.

We not only encourage you to Shop Small on Small Business Saturday, but every day! Small businesses are the lifeblood of our local economy. The owners and employees of these companies not only provide services, but they engage in acts of volunteerism and leadership all across our community. Henry County is a better place to live because of them, and they deserve our thanks and recognition for all their important contributions. Check out a few small business success stories made in Henry County, and shop small this holiday in Downtown McDonough, Main Street Hampton, and Locust Grove Main Street!
