Henry County residents love to partake in festivals and events around town! The City of McDonough’s popular small town events attract big crowds from all over the state. This year is no different with events on the calendar like: Taste of Henry, Atlanta Burger Wars, and the Geranium Festival!

Taste of Henry will take place on Friday, April 15, 2016 from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm at the Jason T. Harper Event Center at Heritage Park in McDonough. This event benefits A Friend’s House, Henry County’s home for abused, neglected, and abandoned children. At Taste of Henry, you will be able to sample foods from over 35 local restaurants and food vendors.

Heritage Park will also be hosting the Atlanta Burger Wars on April 30, 2016 from 11:00 AM to 4:30 PM, honoring the McDonough Arts and Kensley Grace charities. In these burger wars, Georgia’s greatest burger masters will compete against one another for a chance to win two tickets to compete in the World Food Championships. Along with a Judge’s Choice, there will be a People’s Choice award, so be there to place your vote for the best burger around!

Every year, the Geranium Festival brings thousands of people to Downtown McDonough! At this year’s event, the 39th Annual Geranium Festival, you’ll find vendors carrying jewelry, clothing, birdhouses, pet accessories, candles, and more, all with handcrafted and artistic designs. You’ll also experience festival food like strawberry shortcake, funnel cakes, snow cones, barbecue, tomato sandwiches, hamburgers, chicken sandwiches, and more! It’s happening May 21, 2016 from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

Bring the family (and your appetite) out to these springtime events in Henry County!
